Abstract:

The aim of this study was to investigate the role of alexithymia, loneliness and fear of intimacy in attitudes to infidelity in men. The research was descriptive-correlational and the statistical population consisted of all male employees of the hadian company of Tehran municipality. Out of this statistical population, 261 people were selected as convenience sampling. Attitudes toward infidelity scale of Whathley (2008), Toronto alexithymia scale (1994), fear of intimacy scale of Descutner & Thelen (1991) and loneliness scale of Russell & Peplau & Cutrona (1980) were used for data collection. Correlation test and standard regression were used to data analysis. Pearson correlation showed that there is a positive and significant correlation between alexithymia, loneliness and fear of intimacy with attitudes toward infidelity (P <0. 001). In addition, the results of regression analysis indicated that alexithymia, loneliness and fear of intimacy were able to anticipate the attitudes toward infidelity with 0. 31, 0. 15 & 0. 14. According to the findings, it can be concluded that alexithymia, loneliness, and fear of intimacy are the most important factors affecting attitudes toward infidelity in men; therefore, they should be improved by mean of appropriate training in order to reduce infidelity among men.

Descriptive research is a correlational study. The statistical population of the present study included all couples who referred to counseling centers in Kermanshah in 2020-2021. The sample in the present study, according to Cochran's formula, 200 people were selected by available sampling method from counseling centers and answered the questionnaires of Mark Whitley, Larson (1988) and marital intimacy (MIS). The results obtained using multivariate regression and Pearson correlation coefficient showed that there is a negative correlation between the components of sexual satisfaction including desire for sex, sexual attitude, quality of sexual life, sexual adjustment and intimacy with the attitude of a marital infidelity in couples. And there is meaning. According to the research findings, it can be said that the higher the components of sexual satisfaction and intimacy in couples, there is a negative attitude towards marital infidelity. Abstract:

Introduction: Given the considerable negative effects of diabetes, improving health literacy can play a deciding role in preventing and treating such diseases and in saving resources. The present study aimed to investigate the relationship between women’s marital intimacy with health literacy and attitudes towards extramarital relations of husbands with diabetes in Ahvaz. Methods: The statistical population of this descriptive correlational study included all the diabetes patients and their wives in Ahvaz in 2021. The sample of 141 men with diabetes and their wives was selected using convenience sampling. To collect data, the Marital Intimacy Scale, Health Literacy for Iranian Adults (HELIA), and Attitudes toward Infidelity Scale (AIS) were used. The Pearson correlation coefficient and regression were simultaneously used for data analysis. Results: The results suggested that health literacy (r= 0. 35) and attitudes towards extramarital relations (r=-0. 27) in men with diabetes had significant positive and negative correlations with women’s marital intimacy, respectively. The regression results indicated that the variables of health literacy and attitudes towards extramarital relations in men had a significant multiple correlation with women’s marital intimacy (P<0. 001). Conclusions: The results illustrated that paying attention to health literacy and attitudes of men with diabetes towards extramarital relations for their wives’ marital intimacy was more important than ever before

The dimensions of psychopathy and narcissism could predict 18 percent of intimacy changes. Also, significant relationship were found between the attitude toward infidelity and dark triad of personality.
